![]() Can you believe it?!? My little sister just turned 18! I'd like to say she's catching up to me but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. Although this crochet project was made for her as a Christmas present, it's only appropriate that I post it to my blog on her birthday. I had lots of fun making this hat but the entire time I was crocheting it I was thinking how ugly it was :( but I kept on pushing through. When it was done I still wasn't sure about it but I took some pictures for this blog and after taking a look at the pictures I changed my mind, it's a pretty cool hat! Katherine was happy to receive it as a Christmas present and she says she likes it :) ![]() I made the hat using the pattern provided by Lion Brand Yarn. You can find it here. You can see I added my own touches and changed yarn when I wanted rather than listening to the pattern. You can do the same! Have fun with it. ![]() ![]() This was my first crocheted stuffed animal attempt and it was a great success! I think this little guy is the cutest thing and I encourage any crocheter to give it a try. I found the pattern created by WolfDreamer when I was searching for something fun, modern(ish) and cute to make for Gracie. I can't believe WolfDreamer makes her own patterns that emulate Pokemon and Mario Brothers characters, it just amazes me. I plan on using her patterns in the future because they're free, simple to follow and produce the most adorable little animals. Thank you WolfDreamer! How could you not love that face?!?! ![]() I figured I better practice my picture editing skills since Home Cooked will need me to do some client portrait editing and retouching soon. I grabbed some of my favorite pictures of family from our wedding and got started. I will say that I'm having fun and I imagine I'll end up wasting a lot of time in the future playing with photos :) Take a look and let me know if you think I've gone too far or if the retouched photos still look natural. Before: After: Before: After: I can't wait to get started on another one :) ![]() This was a great, one evening, crochet project. I made this little fuzzy teddy bear for my cousin, Christian, for Ukrainian Christmas. It wasn't hard to make but the yarn I chose definitely made the pattern a little more difficult because I could barely see my stitches. With patience, good lighting and a few cups of tea I easily put together this bear. ![]() I followed the pattern outlined for Rainbow Bear from Caron International Yarns, but as you can see, I didn't switch colours. Instead of using the suggested yarn I used what I had, which was Red Heart Foxy yarn, which has unfortunately been discontinued. Below is a picture of what the yarn looks like if you're interested in finding something similar. ![]() Give it a try! |
